I’ve always had a love for being in the kitchen, even if I didn’t quite know what I was doing at first. I vividly remember the days when my mum would call me in to help her season the meals she was preparing. She’d show me just the right amount of each ingredient to add, guiding me as she created special delicacies for our family. When she started her mini restaurant business, I was her right-hand assistant, especially when it came to prepping and perfecting rice dishes.
My real culinary journey began when I was searching for a job to support myself. I was fortunate enough to work in several different restaurants. At that time, I had no idea how vast and intricate the culinary world could be. As I received more opportunities in the hospitality industry, I realized that I wanted to deepen my knowledge. This led me to enroll in culinary school, where I discovered that food is not just about feeding people, it’s truly a form of art.
In my kitchen today, I bring this philosophy to life by blending the bold flavors of Nigerian cuisine with techniques from various regions, including Italian, Asian, and beyond. Each dish is a fusion of cultures and flavors, brought together with balance and creativity.
